A flattening stone is just one of those accessories you'll need eventually. I didn't buy this one for my first decade or so of sharpening, so obviously not the most important.

Feels a little expensive for what it is, but it works.

This is my favorite of the IKEA cutting boards. IKEA always cuts corners to reduce prices, but with the Proppmatt, they made those decisions in a way that is easy to remedy at home. 

Beech is a nice, soft, inexpensive wood that's very easy on your knives, they just didn't sand it very well. Luckily, that's simple to fix with just a piece of 240-grit sandpaper. 

It also comes quite dry out of the package, so you'll want to rub it down with some mineral oil sooner rather than later.

AEB-L is one of my favorite steels: it strikes a great balance between hardness and toughness, and because it's stainless it's quite easy to take care of.

That said, both the handle design and the damascus finish are absolutely horrendous imo. Feels a little on the weeb side too — like the anime equivalent of a chef's knife.

It also just kinda feels goofy. Bob's knives are known for being tall, but expanded to a 10" scale, the blade is absolutely massive.

I like AEB-L, but if I'm shelling out this much money, I'd just go for a KxZ Carbon with its excellent ergonomics and handle.

The texture of these noodles is like a cross between packing peanut and cardboard. I couldn't stand the texture of these gritty noodles, and the broth didn't taste like anything.

Hey. Guess what? You shouldn't make noodles out of pumpkin seeds. They don't make good noodles.

You definitely shouldn't sell your bad noodles for $6/pack either.
